Labor & Employment Section Conference – Program Overview

The Labor & Employment Section Conference is the premier forum where workplace law and real-world practice intersect. Bringing together law firm attorneys, in-house counsel, government practitioners, and plaintiff-side lawyers, the Conference creates a unique environment to examine the most pressing challenges in labor and employment law from every perspective.

Across two days of dynamic panels, attendees will explore cutting-edge issues including: defending employment trials in the era of remote witnesses and digital evidence; the legal, ethical, and litigation risks of AI in hiring and evaluation; the evolving role of in-house counsel in compliance and crisis management; and strategies for balancing litigation risk with advancing workplace inclusion as DEI initiatives face heightened scrutiny. Sessions also address arbitration and mediation trends, defending ADA and leave claims, the future of non-competes and restrictive covenants, and the resurgence of traditional labor law amid expanding NLRB protections and union activity.

What sets this Conference apart is its practical focus. Sessions are designed not only to analyze the law but to equip practitioners with trial-tested strategies, compliance frameworks, and policy insights they can apply immediately. For attorneys in private practice private, the program sharpens advocacy skills and litigation tactics. For in-house counsel, it delivers tools to align compliance with business objectives and manage organizational risk. Government lawyers and plaintiff-side attorneys gain equal value from the balanced curriculum and the opportunity to test perspectives in a candid, collaborative forum.  The Conference is also a community — a space where advocates, in house leaders, mediators, judges and academics can share experiences, debate emerging trends, and develop actionable solutions. Networking opportunities ensure that connections extend beyond the panels, fostering the kind of professional relationships that shape careers and strengthen the field.  We look forward to joining us in New York City.
